Account deletion

Delete your account

Request deletion of your Happn’IN Live account and the data associated with it. You can do this from inside the app, or by sending us a request from this page.

Two ways to delete

In the app, or by request.

If you still have the app installed, deleting from inside it is the fastest route. If you no longer have the app, use the form and we will verify and process your request by email.

01In the appOpen Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Nothing else needed.
02Without the appComplete the form. It opens your email app with the request prepared for our privacy team.
03We verify firstWe reply to the email address on the account to confirm the request is genuinely yours.
04Within 30 daysOnce verified, we delete or de-identify your account data within 30 days.

What deletion removes

When we complete a verified account deletion request, we delete or de-identify:

  • your account and profile, including your name, email address, password, date of birth, and any third-party sign-in identifiers;
  • your business profile and its verification details, where you hold a Business Account;
  • your recorded clips, uploaded images, and event listings;
  • your comments, follows, saved items, and other interaction data;
  • your stored location data and address information;
  • your push notification token and notification preferences.

Live streams are not retained once they end. Content you delete yourself inside the app is removed from our active systems within 30 days.

What we keep, and why

A limited amount of data survives deletion, where the law requires it or where we need it to protect the Service:

  • Records we are legally required to keep — financial records, for example, retained for the period the law requires.
  • Data needed for legal claims — information necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
  • Safety and moderation records — limited records of enforcement action, so that banned accounts cannot simply be recreated.
  • Encrypted backups — residual copies may remain in backups on our routine deletion schedule, and are not restored except for security, disaster recovery, or legal compliance.
  • Anonymized data — aggregated statistics that can no longer be linked back to you may be kept indefinitely.

Other privacy rights

Deletion is one of several rights you hold. You can also access a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, obtain a portable copy, and withdraw consent for location, camera, microphone, and photo access at any time in your device settings. See Your Privacy Rights for how to exercise each one.
